Local dictation with clear data boundaries
Dictated audio and recognized text are processed on your device, not sent to a cloud speech-recognition service. Translation using Diktator's local model also stays on the device.
Diktator does not collect dictation content, documents, or personal writing for cloud speech recognition.
Dictation content stays on your device
Audio, recognized text, and documents are not sent to a Diktator server. You choose whether to send the result through Mail, Messages, a browser, or another app, using that service.
Two translation options
On Mac, choose Diktator's local model or Apple Translation within the same app. Diktator's own translation stays on the device. Apple Translation is a separate option, also available in the free version: its processing depends on Apple's settings and installed language resources. We do not claim that Apple Translation always runs locally.
Website and technical logs
The server may temporarily process an IP address, request date, page address, browser type, and error details to keep the website secure and working. The website has no advertising trackers or registration form.
Orders and payments
An order requires an email address, order identifier, amount, and payment status. The payment partner handles full card details; the Diktator website does not receive or store them. The primary record of a Russian order is stored on a server in Russia.
Licensing
The license identifier and technical activation status are passed to the shared licensing system. The Russian buyer's name and email address are not passed to that system.
Retention and requests
Order and payment records are kept for the periods needed to fulfill the contract, provide support, keep accounts, and meet legal requirements. You may contact support to request information about held data, a correction, or deletion.
